Overview of Asbestos Removal Procedures US 1999

This clip from the 1999 US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) video, Asbestos Managing Problems, Addressing Concerns, shows good containment procedures to prevent the spread of the asbestos during building abatement and demolition. Over the past 20 years, with more stringent US regulations in place concerning the use of asbestos and greater awareness of the health effects of the material, many buildings with asbestos problems were abandoned by corporations and left for the government to clean up. These buildings still present a threat due to large amounts of asbestos containing materials (ACM). Tragically, asbestos building materials and other products, such as brake shoes, are still being used in the US in 2008. (Source: YouTube)

New UK Online Asbestos Job Board Launched

Specialising in jobs within the UK's asbestos industry, www.jobsinasbestos.co.uk marks a new era in online recruitment! Launched in March the brand new website will act as an online job board that is set to transform recruitment in the asbestos management sector by providing a unique opportunity for end employers and jobseekers to communicate directly.

(PRWEB) March 22, 2007 -- Specialising in jobs within the UK's asbestos industry, www.jobsinasbestos.co.uk marks a new era in online recruitment. Launched in March the brand new website will act as an online job board that is set to transform recruitment in the asbestos management sector by providing a unique opportunity for end employers and jobseekers to communicate directly.

The success of the online asbestos jobs board will work by inviting candidates to search the site for new vacancies in the asbestos industry and will equip asbestos removal contractors, asbestos surveyors and consultancies with a new medium to enable them to manage their own recruitment campaigns.

Candidates are able to register to receive email alerts of newly posted jobs, so that they can apply for the positions online, direct to the employer; putting employers in touch with quality experienced jobseekers. With hundreds of candidates already registered, the jobs board eliminates the employers need for expensive hardcopy advertising and more costly traditional techniques previously relied on within the industry.

For companies wanting to advertise a single vacancy online it will cost £200 per month per job, for a recruitment agency with a number of positions, they can pay £400 per month for an unlimited number of vacancies listed.

Any candidate registered with jobsinasbestos.co.uk will receive an email alert to notify them of all new vacancies, if the candidate decides to apply their application will be sent directly to the client via email and to no-one else.

The Jobs in Asbestos Jobs Board will specialise in vacancies from a number of sectors including Asbestos Surveys, Asbestos Consultancy & Asbestos Removal.

To upload your job or to search the latest vacancies please visit www.jobsinasbestos.co.uk for further information.

Asbestos Is Still Contained in Many Products

Asbestos is part of hundreds of products, including tiles, pipe, insulation, siding, joint compounds, roofing felts, cement, drywall, packing, gaskets and automobile and train brakes. Groups that are at high risk for asbestos exposure include construction workers, plumbers, electricians, auto mechanics, insulators, shipyard workers, railroad workers, refinery workers and plasterers as well as school teachers or janitors who worked in asbestos-contaminated areas. In addition, asbestos workers may bring home asbestos on their clothes and shoes, putting their family at risk for asbestos exposure. (NOVATO, CA (PRWEB) March 9, 2007)
