All about low blood pressure or hypotension

Low blood pressure or the hypotension is considered to be a sign of good health by some people, they hold this assumption because of the fact that high blood pressure possess a greater pressure on the heart and the circulatory system, and many people consider that the low blood pressure possess a lesser risk on the kidney disease, on the heart strokes, and other heart disease. But low blood pressure also possesses equal dangers, and it is also a sign of health in bad shape.

Low blood pressure also carries some risks. In low blood pressure, the brain, heart and the other diseases may not receive enough blood and this can cause some of the vital organs to fail, they may not function properly and they may even get permanently damaged. The lack of oxygen can also make the patients affected with low blood pressure to experience blackouts, especially in situations when you stand and sit very quickly after they have been lying down. Such types of blood pressure, wherein the patient experiences black outs is referred to as orthostatic hypotension. Sometimes low blood pressure can be a symptom for some of the life threatening diseases like dehydration, shock, diabetes, heart failure, heart attack and anaphylaxia (this is one of the life threatening disease caused because of allergies). It is not that low blood pressure can cause these diseases but it can be the initial stages for these diseases.

A person who is supposed to be affected by low blood pressure must have the blood pressure recorded as lower than 90/60. The pressure which indicates normal blood pressure is anything between 90/60 to 120/80m, only one of these numbers can be less than what is prescribed otherwise the person does not possess the normal blood pressure. Low blood pressure is one disease which is not considered to have been cure.

Inspite of the reading many doctors many doctors do not say that the person has low blood pressure unless the person does not shows some signs of other diseases. Some of these other signs are like fainting without any specific reason like improper consumption of food causes the people to faint, if people faint without any reason, dizziness, lightheadedness. All or some of these signs when they are present along with the reading, then the doctors usually declare the person to have low blood pressure. This is because of the fat that blood pressure that is low should be capable of causing health problems is usually caused by the other health problems. So it is considered to be essential by the doctors to treat the causes of low blood pressure and incase there are no causes of low blood pressure then the doctors just prescribe certain medicines so as to regulate the blood pressure.
