Panic attack and travelling

A Panic attack is a sudden arousal in physiological aspects of an individual for a discrete period of time. These physiological aspects may include fear, intense anxiety stomach disorders and many other cognitive symptoms. These attacks are not predictable and any one may not know the triggers that may have caused these attacks. These attacks are usually random but they are normally a subset of a response which is commonly referred to as fight or flight that may occur out of the context.

During these attacks the body of the subject is flooded with hormones particularly adrenaline which also aids in protecting against the harms caused due to these attacks. For the person who is experiencing a panic attack, this may be a very frightening and upsetting experience in one’s life. These panic attacks may last from 15 seconds to a few hours.

Most common panic attacks take place due to fear of not being able to escape from a bad situation which is also called agoraphobia. These subjects are usually trapped and are not able to free themselves from the situation.
Travelling may become a very difficult task for the people who are agoraphobic as they are not able escape from the situations, so they become confined to their homes or the place where they are living. So they are afraid of leaving their safe place.

Or some other people may experience difficulty while travelling. They experience panic attacks due to travelling disorders and other problems faced while travelling.

There are many remedies that can be and are being used to avoid disorders caused by a panic attack. The simplest method being the paper bag breathing; however this method is criticized by doctors and scientists all over the world as it reduces the amount of oxygen in blood stream.

Also there are many medicines that are available for controlling a panic attack. These medicines help in controlling the suddenly increased level of hormones in the body. Some of them are diazepam, alprazolam and clonazepam. These drugs are helpful but often lead to physical dependence and tolerance.
